Kreative Change is an NGO based in Pune that focuses on furthering education in India (Grades 6-10), especially in areas that are often isolated from the rest of the country or face difficulties in terms of education. In July of 2024, Mr. Saurabh, a Bangalore resident passionate about teaching and helping the younger generation, joined Kreative Change as an online teacher to guide both teachers in Kreative Change and children in the fields of math and science from grades 8-10.
The students he teaches are from army goodwill schools, which are run by the Indian Army in the regions of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. These schools seek to provide quality education to children in these terrorism-affected regions.
Along with teaching the students via online classes, Kreative Change, with support from the Indian Army, organized a 10 day trip for the students from Leh, Ladakh to the bustling city of Pune, where the students got their first real look at how the rest of the world works.

They got the chance to meet all of their teachers, including Mr. Saurabh, who flew out to meet his pupils, and the people behind the organization teaching them. Both students and teachers got the chance to see how a big city looks and functions, and visited different places around the city, including industrial factories and other schools.
Ladakh faces another challenge in the form of the harsh, unforgiving weather during the winter season, i.e. November-March. During this time, all schools and most businesses shut down as the large amounts of snowfall and freezing temperatures make it almost impossible for residents to step outside their houses.

Due to this, students lose months of valuable schooling, costing them dearly in terms of learning and education. The weather also affects the internet connection in the region, making it hard for teachers to regularly conduct online classes. The NGO is working with different organizations to try and build the infrastructure required to ensure a stable internet connection for schoolchildren in the region.
Kreative Change functions as a bridge for these students to cross over into the new age, helping them view the world from a heightened perspective.
“We do not wait for opportunities; we create them. We do not just talk about change; we make it happen.”
