The long controversial “Epstein Files” have suddenly retaken the spotlight with one of the largest releases to date, revealing Jeffrey Epstein’s daily schedules from 2010 to 2019. The high-society sex offender was found to have met with prominent political figures such as Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Steve Bannon, and even members of British royalty, including Prince Andrew.
The files include over 8,500 documents spanning from phone records and calendars to flight logs and transaction details. Throughout the files, there are many mentions of high-profile members of society and their activities in affiliation to Jefferey Epstein. One notable mention was of tech billionaire Elon Musk and his “pending trip” to Epstein’s infamous island – Little St James. This island has been cited by many women who were involved with Epstein as the site of their abuse. The Spokesperson of the Oversight Committee, Sara Guerrero, has commented on the release stating that “it should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world.”

Despite the release of the daily schedules, no accusations have been leveled against Musk, Thiel, Bannon, or Prince Andrew. However, Musk has since referenced a news story about the documents on X commenting that “this is false.” Further review of the documents is ongoing as the conspiracy theories on Epstein’s death soar to new heights. His suicide at New York’s Metropolitan Correctional Center in 2019 was the source of many conspiracy theories as his many high society connections came under scrutiny.

Despite his death in 2019, the files have returned to the limelight courtesy of President Donald Trump who pledged in his 2024 campaign to release the files. However, the Trump Administration’s handling of the files has been a source of major controversy in the country as the President went back on his word. The Department of Justice released a statement saying that, despite Trump’s claims, there was no “list of clients who received underage girls.” This blatant retreat from the previous claims was met with anger and frustration from President Trump’s own base of supporters.
All in all, the Epstein files, despite seemingly coming to an end in 2019, appear to have no end as more files are released to the public. If there is anything we can take away from this, it is the blatant need for transparency in powerful circles so as to ensure accountability and justice.
